It’s a rarity in this country: Of the 7.6 million companies in the United States with 50 or more employees, fewer than 10,000 offer their employees a vested interest in the company itself. Then again, OC Communications is a rare company. We believe that employees who have a stake in the company’s future will care more about its performance. That’s why we launched the Employee Partnership Program in conjunction with our 25th anniversary just a few years ago.
It works like this: Qualified employees are awarded shares in a trust that owns a sizable portion of the entire company. It’s an investment in OCC, and an investment in our employees’ future. It’s boosted morale, but it’s also boosted the bottom line, as our teammates take ownership of projects and company property to avoid losses and maintain lean and profitable growth.
